Early Spring Elegance
The heels are lovely but the grey sweater with the yellow gloves on a golden bike with a straw basket really tickled my early spring fancies.
So pretty!

High Heels and Coffee
It was early Saturday morning, she was riding slowly enough to not pose a hazard with her one-handed cycling. Love how those jeans fit with her classic black heels.

Bike wardrobe creative fix

A reader of this blog sent in her story of a bike wardrobe fix:
On our way to the annual Bike Alliance Auction in Seattle, by the time I had ridden off the ferry from Bainbridge Island, I realized the heel straps on my shoes weren't as tight as I thought! . Happily, a quick thinking stop at Elliot Bay Cycle sent me on my way not only secure, but a little safer! My husband's tux didn't need a thing. Isn't that the way with men's clothes?
Sure is! Props to you for riding pedals with clips and heels at the same time, I'm impressed.
We've all seen the guy with the binder clip from his office re-purposed as a trouser clip, and plastic bags re-used as seat covers and shoe covers. On a rainy Friday I'd love to hear about other bike wardrobe quick-fixes!

Bright jacket and capris

I've talked about wearing a bright jacket and capris as possible concessions for easy cycling so when I saw this woman I immediately thought "Where's her bike?" Maybe she parked it to go to lunch with her friend, or maybe she's just wearing this ensemble because she finds it cute, even without a bike!

I am so impressed!
For all of you who are concerned about navigating a city on a bike - this tiny attorney does it every day in four inch heels! I caught her on a casual Friday in her Coach raincoat and casual jeans, but she tells me I can find the 'pearls on a bike' contingent every month at Critical Mass. This is something I would like to see! Until then I remain impressed by her skills, which she downplays. She points out that you really pedal with the balls of your feet, so why not wear heels? Indeed biking in heels is easier than walking in heels...
She makes it sound easy!
