Emma Watson and People Tree update

It's time to update news on Emma's People Tree line called  ‘People Tree, Love Emma.’ To refresh your memory, Emma was a creative advisor on a clothing line aimed at young men and women who are under the age of 25.  All proceeds go to charity so this is a project we are excited about at the Coffee Break. The clothing line will be available to be purchased in Europe, Asia-Pacific, and US on Februry 2010.  At People Tree you can sign up for information on how to get a catalogue for the line.

In a new interview. People Tree co-founder Safia Minney, talks about Emma's line and gives more details on why it's important to support lines like People Tree. She stated that there are plans for a short film on youtube, and activities for students to get involved in like fashion shows and outreach programs. You can view the interview here Emma Watson Updates.

Other good news is the line is already expanding. People Tree have now amassed some international stockists, as well as some new online ones, notably ASOS. Stockists include: John Lewis - UK 6 selected stores and online; Arnotts - Dublin, Republic of Ireland; Takashimaya - Tokyo, Japan.

Sustain Your Style has an article that details the new stockists and provides quotes from those involved.

Quotes from the article:

Safia Minney, CEO of People Tree shared “I am delighted that such large and influential retailers have chosen to support this collection and help People Tree and Emma Watson show younger people just how desirable, wearable and affordable Fair Trade fashion can be."

People Tree's stockists agree, as Jo Hunt, buyer branded womenswear, ASOS.com says “When we heard that People Tree were collaborating with Emma Watson on a SS10 collection we jumped at the chance to be one of the first retailers to launch the collection. ASOS.com is committed to creating a platform for pioneering Fair Trade brands and this is a partnership we are very excited to support.”

Kyoko Kato, womenswear senior buyer, Takashimaya adds “Emma is such a good role model for her generation and through this collection we hope to further deliver the message of Fair Trade fashion. We believe this collection will be very attractive and affordable to young people and hope to make the most of this opportunity and promote Fair Trade fashion to their generation.”
