Cold Kool Stops Stop

Brrrrrrrrr.

Last night was the coldest ride in a long time.
The reasons are complicated, but for the moment I have the old style black brake blocks on my front brake and salmon Continental Kool Stops on my rear brake. On the ride home my face was frozen, the bottoms of my non-skid Dansko clogs were frozen, the black brake blocks felt like ice cubes scraping against my rim... but the Continental Kool Stops performed like it was an afternoon in June. It was incredible. I'm fully converted.

Speaking of conversions, I have a set of Kool Stops for the front brake, I was going to install them with my new front wheel. More on that soon!

Gentleman's Bike

We're not spending much time outside these (cold) days, but I did see this handsome bike.

Friday

On friday we had a great family dinner with a big turkey at my grandma's. In the afternoon I went to take a walk in the city with my cousin. It was cold and nasty outside so we bought a coffee-to-go but we were still absolutely frozen. This is what I was wearing - it's the trench coat by H&M and Clara Barson ballerinas. Handbag - Gucci, tights - Gatta, sunglasses - my cousin's
My cousin is on the other hand more kinda disco thing. This is what she wore:

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Emma Watson Christmas update

Emma updated her official site and it was well worth the wait! She posted not only a written message but she filmed a small video. It is completely adorable! Plus there are some new photos, including one from her People Tree campaign.  She also posted a small list of songs that she is listening to now. She seems to be a little romantic or maybe it's just the Michael Buble song. (He's a favorite here at the coffee break. Everything about Michael is romantic!) So head over to her official site now!!!! Emma Watson Official

Emma placed in the top 10 in another fashion poll. She again was recognized for her Ossie Clark dress.

Schwinn Jenny

chic cyclist Boston
I was so happy to get this submission from a chic Boston cyclist. I love it all, but perhaps the coat the most (that's my favorite color). Looking good is its own reward, but I still want to say WELL DONE!

Emma Watson, People Tree, polls, and more

Grazia has their best red carpet moments on 2009. Emma got mentioned for her Ossie Clark dress.

Emma also made Vogue's best dressed list for 2009 for her Proenza Schouler dress she wore for the NY premiere.

Emma had some special news this week and what a way to finish out the year. Guinness Book of World Records named Emma as the highest grossing actress of the decade! (This is not to be mixed up with highest paid.) Her movies have made 5.4 billion US dollars. She placed ahead of co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint because of her voice over work for Tale of Despereaux.

People Tree is starting to promote Emma's new line. They have a new contest where you can ask Emma a question about her passion for Fair Trade and about Fair Trade itself. You need to send in a video of yourself asking the question and the top questions will be selected. So good luck to all that participate. People Tree has also announced Feb. 22, 2010 as the date Emma's line will be available. More information is available here: People Tree

RIP Brittany and many other things

Today I learned that actress Brittany Murphy passed away at the age of 32. I've never seen her act but I liked her and her style.
Yesterday it was about minus 15 degrees in Prague so I had to wear tights underneath jeans. I hate to do so, I always look tragically fat. I went to the nearest shopping centre and bought a red H&M trenchcoat and black suede ballerinas - no photos yet because I bought them as a Christmas present from my grandma who couldn't think what to give me so she gave me some money. And I'll naturally get these things on Christmas eve under the tree (haha we don't have it yet). Today I have a Christmas piano concert and I'm absolutely unprepared.
This is what we have instead of a traditional Christmas wreath:
Yesterday there was a children's play in our Church. I helped them by accompanying a little strings orchestra - I played the piano. People liked it.
In the evening I went to a concert of our friend's band (they don't play for public) in club Jazz Dock straight on the river. It was great, I danced although I can't dance.

At home I watched SuperStar final and my favourite singer Martin Chodúr won. Luckily, the other one was just a girls' idol who couldn't sing at all.
I probably won't post till 25.th so HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!!

Don Jazzy Produces Darey's New Album

Darey Art Alade has returned with yet another single titled Stroke Me, a track he plans to include in his next recording.

Produced by the CEO of Mo Hits Records, Don Jazzy, with support from the Soul Muzik duo of Del B and Password, the song was recently premiered in Lagos, where the singer thanked his fans and the media for their role in his career, starting from his days in the Project Fame Africa house. The event also featured the unveiling of the winner of his TV project, The Most Undareyted Show.

Now moving into a new phase, Darey and his team are hoping to keep fans busy this Xmas, with the new track, which is already generating discourse among music lovers. The full album is billed to be released next year, after an international release scheduled for February 2010.

Meanwhile, the VCD compilation for Darey’s award-winning videos is set for release. To be marketed by Okeysonic, the compilation will include the award-winning videos, Not The Girl, More, Carry Dey Go and others.

With big-budget videos, breath-taking performances and chart-topping singles, Darey has finally won the hearts of music lovers, playing at gigs and winning both local and international awards.

He Likes It!

Dad's bike is a complete success, but I might actually be even happier than he is.

He's out riding it today, in this frigid weather, so I know he really likes it.
